Software Tango Pcb Dongle
I have Tango's PCB program for a long time but have not had to use it for awhile. Now when I do try to use it I can't get the 'Security Dongle' to behave consistantly. I am now approaching a deadline - and my wits end. Have tried a number of combinations: Switch the port back to normal, from ECPI Take the ZIP drive out of the circuit.
LPT2 instead of 1 Various printers on, off, or disconnected. Once I find a combination that allows the program to start, it may not continue to work. Accell won't even talk to you if your not a part of their 'maintenance program'. Not only that Tango is a dead product for them. They are perfectly willing to sell a new dongle, which may not work either.
Is there some sort of workaround to just get rid of this fool device or make it work better. Sure would appreciate any suggestions. Jon Bryan 20.05.98 00:00. I've probably spent $15-20k on Accel software over the last seven or eight years, and I've told the president of Accel face-to-face that I think dongles are stupid. Obviously he feels differently.
When it comes to software protection, you need solutions - not gadgets. You need HASP - the Professional Software. And others are available: Maxlloute $250.00 Pads PCB $99.00 CadKey $99.00 MasterCam $250.00 Tango PCB ll $99.00 MIcroStatIon $99.00 PCAD $250.00 Visa.
Ao No Exorcist Manga Rare. I haven't had to call them much since upgrading to EDA, but when I do I always tell them how I feel about dongles. Maybe someday they will listen. They are currently using a much, much better one than they used to, but it still occasionally has trouble.
Usually when I'm printing something but once in a while I think my screen saver is the cause. At least it recovers now. With the old dongle it _never_ recovered, and I lost work many times. I got in the habit of saving after every change. If the new dongle works with Tango (doubtful) then get it. The old dongles were pure s**t.
Replacing your current one with another of the same type won't solve your problem. -- Jon Bryan Sandia National Laboratories Intelligent System Sensors and Controls Jerry Zdenek 21.05.98 00:00.

I am now approaching a deadline - and my >wits end. I found that hanging a dongle off the back of a laptop wasn't the most enjoyable proposition. I ended up buying a security key emulator for Tango from SafeSoft Systems. Unfortunately, I don't have their phone number, but I believe that they're up in Canada.

It has an expected life of ten years. Mine is approaching that. And who knows how long it sat on the shelf at Accel.

If the dongle does not work consistently with nothing else on the printer port, and especially if the computer is booted in DOS (though mine works fine in a DOS window under Windows 95), I'd strongly suspect a failing battery. If you can borrow another dongle that is working somewhere else, and it works, this will prove it. (The dongle is the same for all Tango PCB and PCB Plus, as far as I know.) >Accell won't even talk to you if your not a part of their 'maintenance >program'. They are >perfectly willing to sell a new dongle, which may not work either. I have been informed that they will sell a new dongle for not very much money, trading it for the old one. If they really refuse to sell a new dongle or repair and existing one, please let me know. >Is there some sort of workaround to just get rid of this fool device or >make it work better. It is conceivable that the battery could be replaced. I've heard of it being done. But one slip, one moment without power, the dongle is useless.
