Fitswork Software Astrophoto Average ratng: 5,7/10 711votes

Fitswork is an astronomy imageprocessing program. It's not any develoopment on it nowadays. But still it's competive and it's free.

Stack a number of pictures taken by e.g. Video imaging and use image enhancement to remove noise and increase detail. The best image-stacking software I've used is DeepSkyStacker. Marvel Ultimate Alliance Wii Ntsc Iso Files more. There are other applications that can also do this, such as PixInsight, Fitswork, Nebulosity, Maxim DL, etc. But DeepSkyStacker is free and does a good job for most people. Applications like GIMP are not really suitable for astronomical image.

Something you can start with before you by any expensive software. It's developed in Germany and it's hard too find any instructions in English, but the menus are in english. I have made some tutorials here in english for you who want to give it a try. Here is the link where you download it: Visit my new homepage with astronomy DIY projects: You can also find me at the forum Astronet:, my nickname is Astrofriend. The languish is only in Swedish here!

This first tutorial is about how to download, install and setup Fitswork.

Howdy folks.recently I've thought it'd be a good idea to compile a giant list of AP related software all contained in one place so it would be easy to find, I've started with the programs below (along with short descriptions), but need help from you all to see if I've missed any. Throw up any programs you find useful/have used before and I'll add them to the list and then we can throw it into the FAQ or wiki for future users.

• - for camera control, easily the best $$ you'll spend on AP software. • - free software that lets you input your coordinates and will show you when objects will be up and at what time.

• - for stacking multiple exposures together into one image. • - post-processing software written by • - post-processing software • - free from Adobe but requires you to make an Adobe ID • - planetary video processing/stacking software • - planetary video stacking software • - mosaic/composite image stitching software • - FIT ->TIFF file converter • - video converting software, requires plugin for.MOV ->.AVI • - calibrate your GoTo tracking mount, GoTo any target with arcsecond accuracy and measure your polar alignment error • - guiding software to correct mount errors for longer exposures. • - Planetary imaging pre-processor, good for shaving down file sizes with cropped, stabilized planetary shots • - Used for one-click image stitching with border feathering & Histogram • - used for creating star trail images • - free planetary stacker ( OSx) • - a suite of open source applications that can provide an alternative to the hand controller • - image capture suite for astrophotography. • - Flexible image capturing software, records in raw, uncompressed files • - Simple image capturing software that re-sizes video resolution automatically & has auto align & dark frame reduction features • - planetary processing software for derotation/mapping/planetary moon alignment • - Free camera control for those with Nikon DSLRs. • - periodic error correction, polar alignment and backlash using your CCD Camera or Webcam • - Free capture control for mac + nikon. • - Free sequence capture control for Mac/PC + lots of DSLRs.

You need a shutter control interface, like in order to use this with a nikon however. • - $80 capture and processing software for Mac/PC. Supports a bunch of Canon DSLRs and astro cams. • - A piece of software that is meant to be used to process images from MicroObservatory.org, it's not really good for much else, but it does a damned good job of teaching people the basics of processing RGB FITS data. • - Great CCD Camera control software and decent processing power too. • - The software that comes with sBig CCD cameras also available separately.

• - Remote imaging software. • - Stacking software for CCD images • - Plate Solving software. • - For calculating all things related to CCD imaging (FOV/pixel size/etc) • - For those that use Gemini controlled mounts • - for planning/logging/visualizing astrophotography sessions • - post processing/image editing software • - guiding for Linux • - relatively cheap sbig camera control program. Can drive sbig adaptive optics devices. • - AstroImager is a powerful, but easy to use image capture application for the astrophotography. ( OSX) • - AstroTelescope, is a simple planetarium and telescope control application for the astrophotography. ( OSX) • - AstroGuider is a simple to use guiding application for your telescope mount.

It can be calibrated semi-automatically or manually, you do not need to take care about camera orientation or pixel scale. ( OSX) Plugins for Photoshop: • • • • • Plugins for GIMP: • • • • • • • •.
